About SAT Math Test

The SAT Math Test covers a wide range of practices with an emphasis on the problem-solving, strategic use of tools, and time management. SAT focuses its math test on real situations. Math test questions are designed to reflect the problem solving you will do in:
  • College math and science courses
  • Jobs you hold
  • Personal life
Some questions will involve several steps as in the real world single calculation is not enough to get the job done. Most of the questions in the mathematics section are multiple choices, however, some are grid-ins questions which may require you to come up with the answer instead of selecting the answer. The SAT Math Test is divided into two sections
  • Math Test- No Calculator
  • During this, you will have no calculator
  • Duration- 25 minutes for 15 multiple choice questions and 5 grid-in questions
  • Math Test- Calculator:
  • During which you are allowed to use the calculator
  • Duration- 55 minutes for 30 multiple choice questions, 8 grid-in questions

In-Depth Focus

The SAT Math Test focuses on the three areas of math that play an important role in your future career:
  • Heart of Algebra
  • Problems Solving & Data Analysis
  • Passport to Advanced Math
The test also draws on Additional Topics in Math which includes trigonometry and geometry relevant to the career and college readiness.

What SAT Math Test measure?

Fluency

SAT Math Test is a chance to show your skills and prove that you can carry out procedures efficiently, accurately, flexibly, and strategically. You also show how quickly you can solve problems by identifying and using efficient approaches. This involves problem solving skills like finding a shortcut, or inspecting and organizing the given information.

Conceptual Understanding

Your grasp on math concepts, basics, relations, and operations is also determined through the SAT Math Test. For example, they may ask you to prepare connections between linear equations, graphs, etc.

Applications

The real-world problems ask you to understand a situation, analyze them, determine the essentials to solve the problem and carry out the solution.

Siotoh Academy offers an online SAT Math Test Prep course designed to excel students’ abilities in achieving higher scores. Our course provides the techniques, expertise and the confidence students need to ace the Math Test. Our online program offers an invaluable experience to all the students.
